Our pellets, particles and halibut come in a variety of sizes, so which one should you choose?
Some people may tell you it depends on what you are looking to catch but actually that may not be the case. While its true that the larger baits can only be eaten by the bigger fish, it is not always best to go for the larger pellets if you want a bigger specimen. You may even put off all fish and go home without a single catch! Carp especially can be extremely picky and become obsessed with smaller baits, but this doesn’t help us get a bite. So, what to do? The answer is surprisingly obvious…use a variety of sizes.
Start with the smaller particles to start a swim, give the fish confidence and start them looking for food. Once they are feeding quickly mix in some larger pellets and gradually work up to the size of your hook bait. This should make the hook bait even more appealing getting a bite quicker. A larger hook bait should mean a bigger fish…in theory anyway!
Another good use for the variety of sizes in in PVA bags. Start filling with larger pellets, then add smaller ones to fill the gaps. The tiny pellets are great because they fit right into the corners of the bag.
